Description

Botanical Species: Rosmarinus officinalis

Origin: Tunisia

Rosemary is the classic “get up and go” oil. Try adding 3 drops of Rosemary, 2 drops of Lemon and 1 drop of Peppermint to tepid bath before an important occasion.

Adding a few drops to the final rinsing water for dark hair can help keep a natural shine.

Subtle Aromatherapy: Rosemary is described as a psychic protector. It is recommended to use the oil first thing in the morning before exposing yourself to all the external influences. Rosemary oil is associated with clear thought and helpful wherever there is a need for clarity. It is therefore associated with the third eye brow chakra.

Caution: Do not use Rosemary during the 4 months of pregnancy.

How To Use

  • Massage: Blend a total of 3 to 5 drops of essential oils in 10 ml of carrier oil (Almond oil, Coconut oil, Rosehip Oil, etc) to make a blend suitable for most adults; halve the ratio for children, the elderly and women who are pregnant or nursing.
  • Bath: Dilute up to 8 drops of essential oils in a carrier oil or bath oil and sir into the bath water. Up to 6 drops of essential oils may be added directly to the running water but this is not recommended with essential oils which are irritants for those people with sensitive skin.
  • Vaporizer: Use 6 drops of essential oils in a traditional candle burner or vaporizer to create an aromatic ambiance.
  • Compress: Add 4 or 5 drops of essential oils to a bowl of warm or cold water, soak a clean cloth or sterile gauze in the water and apply to the desired area.
  • Foot bath: Soak feet for as long as possible in a bowl of warm or cold water with 4 or 5 drops of essential oil stirred in (preferably diluted in a carrier oil before being added).
  • Inhalation: With a towel over your head, lean over a bowl of just-boiled water with up to 4 drops of essential oils added – breathe normally for ten minutes. Use fewer drops for children and elderly.
  • Add several drops of essential oils to a plant spray filled with water and shake well to create your own natural room spray.
