Geranium Essential Oil

10 ml

Description

Botanical Species: Pelargonium graveolens

Origin: Egypt

Geranium is an excellent balancing and uplifting oil for all-round use and is especially popular with women.

Try blending 1 drop of Geranium with 2 drops of Lavender and 2 drops of Mandarin in a teaspoon of Sweet Almond Oil for use as a relaxing, refreshing bath or massage oil. Alternatively, blend the same oils with two teaspoons of Peach Kernel oil for a special hydrating body moisturizer with a delicious aroma.

In a diffuser or burner, Geranium blends very well with the citrus oils. It is deodorizing, cleansing and uplifting as well as having quite good insect-repellent properties.

Subtle Aromatherapy: Geranium is ideal for the workaholic perfectionist. The person who has forgotten imagination, intuition and sensory experience.

How To Use

  • Massage: Blend a total of 3 to 5 drops of essential oils in 10 ml of carrier oil (Almond oil, Coconut oil, Rosehip Oil, etc) to make a blend suitable for most adults; halve the ratio for children, the elderly and women who are pregnant or nursing.
  • Bath: Dilute up to 8 drops of essential oils in a carrier oil or bath oil and sir into the bath water. Up to 6 drops of essential oils may be added directly to the running water but this is not recommended with essential oils which are irritants for those people with sensitive skin.
  • Vaporizer: Use 6 drops of essential oils in a traditional candle burner or vaporizer to create an aromatic ambiance.
  • Compress: Add 4 or 5 drops of essential oils to a bowl of warm or cold water, soak a clean cloth or sterile gauze in the water and apply to the desired area.
  • Foot bath: Soak feet for as long as possible in a bowl of warm or cold water with 4 or 5 drops of essential oil stirred in (preferably diluted in a carrier oil before being added).
  • Inhalation: With a towel over your head, lean over a bowl of just-boiled water with up to 4 drops of essential oils added – breathe normally for ten minutes. Use fewer drops for children and elderly.
  • Add several drops of essential oils to a plant spray filled with water and shake well to create your own natural room spray.
